  9.                 FOR NOVELL'S NEW E-MAIL STANDARD

  12. announced today that users of the CompuServe Mail Hub can
  13. take full advantage of Novell Inc.'s NetWare Remote MHS and
  14. NetWare Global MHS via CompuServe's support of SMF-71, the
  15. latest version of Novell's application programmer's
  16. interface (API).
  17.      SMF-71 is one of the support features built into
  18. NetWare Remote MHS 2.0, whose availability was announced by
  19. Novell today.
  20.      The CompuServe Mail Hub gives local area network and
  21. stand-alone personal computer users the ability to exchange
  22. electronic mail cost-effectively, conveniently and reliably
  23. with other NetWare MHS, NetWare Global MHS and NetWare
  24. Remote MHS users, as well as with more than 1.4 million
  25. CompuServe Information Service members worldwide. The hub
  26. service facilitates the exchange of messages through a store-
  27. and-forward process via, in most cases, a local phone call
  28. from the MHS user to the CompuServe Network.
  29.      "CompuServe is pleased to continue across-the-board
  30. support for Novell's messaging products, and for the MHS-
  31. compatible products from hundreds of software developers,"
  32. said Dave Bezaire, CompuServe senior product manager. "As
  33. the largest worldwide MHS hub service, we worked closely
  34. with Novell as they developed NetWare Remote MHS. We look
  35. forward to continuing to make affordable connectivity
  36. services available to all segments of the stand-alone and
  37. LAN-based e-mail markets."
  38.      Included in the CompuServe Mail Hub's support for SMF-
  39. 71 are workgroup long names, server long names, automatic
  40. downgrading or upgrading of messages sent by users of SMF-70
  41. and SMF-71, and no loss of addressing information when using
  42. SMF-71.
  43.      The CompuServe Mail Hub works in conjunction with any
  44. MHS-compatible package, including WinMail (Finansa); The
  45. Coordinator and DaVinci eMAIL (DaVinci Systems); BeyondMail
  46. (Beyond); cc:Mail (Lotus); Microsoft Mail (Microsoft);
  47. WordPerfect Office (WordPerfect); Team (Futurus); Expressit!
  48. (Infinite Technologies); Pegasus (David Harris - shareware);
  49. MailMAN (Reach); Notework (Notework); Network Scheduler
  50. III(Powercore); CompletE-Mail (Transend); FirstMail
  51. (Novell); QuickMail (CE Software); and Framework (Borland).

  60. AT&T EasyLink, Infonet, the Internet, MCI Mail and
  61. SprintMail at no additional charge, as well as the ability
  62. to send messages to facsimile machines at CompuServe's
  63. standard fax rates.
